Important Policies.
Participation: Participants are expected and encouraged to attend every class meeting and to get involved in the discussion. We will learn much more and be much happier if all of us explore the mathematics together. All participants are expected to show respect to other students, the instructor, and any guests who may be visiting the class during the year.
Cell Phones: Make sure that your cell phone is off and away during our class meetings.
Attendance: Attendance is taken daily; any more than five absences will be considered excessive. Your attendance will be considered in borderline cases.
Academic Integrity: Students who are caught cheating will be given a zero on that assignment and will be sent to the principal's office for possible suspension.
Make-Up Policy: Students will only be allowed to make-up one test if they are absent. However, if a student receives a D or below, they will be allowed to retake the exam one more time.
Homework: Homework will be assigned on a regular basis. Homework later than a week will not be accepted.
Quizzes: Quizzes will frequently be on Thursdays and will test the previous week's material.
Exams: There will be an exam after every chapter. The dates of these exams will be announced in class at least one week in advance.
Final Exam: The final exam will be cumulative.
